Fiskeleret
The Quest for the Fish Clay: a location-based game below Stevns Klint, where the player climbs, balances and hunts for fossils.
The game
In The Quest for the Fish Clay, the player has to climb and balance through rough terrain below Stevns Klint in search of fossils. Virtual rocks lie scattered about, and any of them might hold a fossil – you just have to examine them. Once the player has collected three fossils, a special point unlocks: the Fish Clay. In this way we lead players to perhaps the most spectacular place on Earth to see it.
The game works as a playful guide that tells the player about the different kinds of rocks and fossils found at the cliff, and at the same time leads them to a very beautiful spot in Denmark where they can learn more about the famous clay.
Background
Beyond the geology, it was important to show and tell the audience about the remarkable nature of Stevns Klint. Like a latter-day Indiana Jones, the player moves over rough (and slippery) rocks through one of Denmark’s most beautiful natural areas on the quest for the Fish Clay.
